Clarification on Different Types of Gold-Plating

There are two types of interpretations¹ to the word "gold".
1. Gold as in "the colour of gold"
2. Gold as in "the element 'gold' in the Periodic Table with scientific name Aurum and atomic number 79"

Say, "14k gold plated" under the first interpretation means "base metal plated with gold substance to produce an output that gives the colour of 14k gold". Under the second interpretation it means "base metal plated with substance consisting of 14 parts of Aurum mixed with 10 parts of other metals'.

It's hard to say unless it is chemically tested, but since it's better than the conventional gold colour in terms of quality and color, why not?

Quality Control Measures

Samples of metal findings were used to make accessories which I then wore out. The tarnishing processes were also observed to ensure a certain level of durability in the materials.
